The Avalon Police Department has charged two teenagers from Summit, NJ with drug charges and other offenses following an incident that occurred on August 3rd, 2017 at 11:07pm on the 100 block of 30th Street.

Patrolman William Robinson approached two males who were acting in a suspicious manner, approached them and identified himself.  The two subjects fled on foot.  18 year old Brian R. Treger physically resisted arrest and was quickly apprehended after a brief scuffle.  18 year old Tucker F. Cannon ran from the scene and was apprehended several blocks away.  Cannon presented false identification to police when he was apprehended.

Both Treger and Cannon were charged with Possession of Marijuana under 50 grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Make Lawful Disposition of CDS, and Resisting Arrest.  Treger was additionally charged with Simple Assault and Cannon was charged with Exhibiting a False Drivers License to Law Enforcement.

Both Treger and Cannon were processed and released on a summons.  Treger is unemployed, while Cannon is a student.
